When Mei Ling kept missing our sessions, I couldn’t understand it – she was always so enthusiastic about exercise. She finally came clean, telling me her boyfriend is freakin’ ‘clingy’. I wish she had just told me sooner! I got a company to make this prototype for me, and now every time he settles for his usual Sunday cuddle ‘n’ snooze on the couch, she slips this little baby in and comes to see me. We worked it out!

Rhino Eyes!

Posted in Thoughts of the Day on June 1st, 2010 by Miller

rhino_eyesA couple of clients have been saying they are just too tired for exercise after a long day in the office. I had to do something, so I have been developing these specs with a local pharmacy, knowing that Rhino Charge used responsibly in eye drop form, could wake the dead, never mind the tired.

This kind member of the public, who has asked to remain nameless, agreed to try the eye drops out. She was awake for 3 days, giving her ample time to spend her £10 fee.

nicolaNicola came to me 3 months ago a size 8 and seriously p.i.s.s.e.d. Her boyfriend is in the Navy and two weeks after he was called to duty, she found out he had been doing the dirty with one of her best mates. He is finally returning the week after next from service, and Nicola informs me she is ready for this.

To wheat or not to wheat.

Wheat and most all grass grains present two challenges for our bodies. Certainly for people who are trying to loose weight and/or fat.

The two main issues are IRRITATION and even ALLERGIC reaction and rate of absorption in the body.
ALLERGIC? Everybody eats bread and grains! millions of people are highly allergic to the proteins in the grains which can cause damage to the small intestine. Tens of millions more suffer from IRRITABILITY like bloating or lethargy.  I believe Triticum (standard white wheat flour)  is the worst culprit of these because it is an entirely man made hybrid of grain.

Other negative effects of many grains are the speedy rate in absorption of glucose into the bloodstream for energy. Many foods do this at a rate that is even faster than that of eating glucose itself!!! The long term damage from over production of insulin in order to manage blood sugar may lead to illnesses such as type 2 diabetes!

Why not try what I recommend to so many of my clients and be your OWN investigative physician by listening carefully to your body. Here’s my challenge:

1. Eliminate ALL grain from your diet. Including any grain fermented alcohol for two weeks.

2. Introduce ONE grain only at week three and see how your body responds and how eating
makes you feel and look.  If you do not like how you body responds in any way (weight, bloating, tiredness, skin tone, bowel movements)  then eliminate and the following week try another grain.

3.  If the grain you have introduced does suit just fine, them add another one to the diet the following week and repeat step two until you have tried and eliminated or incorporated them all.

You will be amazed at what your body tells you when you listen carefully.
If you wanna learn more on bad grains and better grains to suit your body let me know!!!

I had been working with Danny for three sessions, and after he had told me he his problems, I tried to offer some advice courtesy of my trade mark sit-up-and-listens. But he wasn’t putting it to practise. The advice was brilliant – what was he playing at?

Turns out he is just a little hard of hearing. I got two standard size party hats left over from the Gym Box Christmas party and in seconds, he was hearing me loud and clear. Now that I am finally getting through, he promises to change those specs by the end of the week.

Are you a camel…?

You need to start drinking more water .  About 50% of you is made of water!  But if you do not drink enough on a daily basis, you sure to be storing water in your tissues to compensate for the fact that you are not consuming enough.
Seen a camel?  Thats you. And don’t think your body does not do the same exact thing!!!  So to avoid looking like a bloated beast crossing the sahara your body needs to trust you.  Yes it needs to trust that you will consistently give it enough water on a daily basis before it stops storing it!  How much should I drink  you ask?  Well  it depends on your size the weather and your daily activity but safe to say between 2 and 4 liters!!!
One way to make this more easily palatable as well as to alkalinize your body is to add a squeeze of fresh lemon to your water.  Yes Yes i know lemon and citric ACID are acidic , but lemon juice actually  processes in your body as ALKALINE and is an easy way to keep your body in a more alkaline state generally.  This is important on the most basic cellular level because our cells are in essence tiny batteries – ones which operate optimally in an alkaline environment.

Now get drinking! You should have had about a liter by the time you finished reading this!

The Exception to the Rule

Granny

This is my ‘Great’ Aunt Lil. She sent me this little picture last week to rub my face in it. Lil has never had time for what I do; she’s always telling me exercise and a healthy lifestyle is a waste of time. But I don’t believe ol’ Lil made a century without doing some serious exercise on the sly – look at the size of those fingers; she’s been doing my Hands-On Hands program for starters.
